QUICKIE REVIEW One of a few places open late night for some adult beverages. FOOD This is what I tried: -Adult Beverages Found this place to be opened while a lot of other restaurants were closed at night. Came in with a few people, had a few drinks, shared a few laughs, and played some games. Appreciated the fact that they were open considering how many places were closed early on a week night. PARKING Yes, ample parking. SERVICE Order at bar, pick up at bar, PRICE Depends on how much you decide to indulge here. TIP/OTHER THOUGHTS Stayed here until the placed closed down. Staff was really cool and the place had a chill vibe.
During Saturday lunch, we had the restaurant to ourselves. It was the calm before the football storm. The new owners have remodeled with an upscale trendy vibe. There are tables inside and out with the door open on this beautiful fall day. The patio has a covered and uncovered side with party lights. There are many monitors playing pregame shows. Our server, Samuel, says pick any seat. I move around a couple of times like Goldilocks to find the right spot. Samuel is a fantastic 5 star server, friendly and attentive. He's the favorite server that people will request. He brings water with lemon and food comes out fairly quick. I ordered a bowl of Betsy's special chili, made from her grandma's recipe. A bowl included crackers, cheese, diced red onions and sour cream. It's hearty and filling with a hint of spicy heat. Perfect fall bowl of soup. My husband ordered their amazing pork tenderloin. The sandwich is double stacked with two battered loins and all the fixins. He tries the breaded okra as his side. The generous portion of okra is delicious (I ate half). Unlike downtown Zionsville, parking is plentiful. I'll be back. Love this little pub.
Was super surprised they weren't at all busy on Sunday afternoon. They've been open around 6 months. Found them on Yelp searching for Dog Friendly so we could socialize our puppy. This location was a Pizza King for decades. Our server came out and got our drink order and when she came back had a bowl of water for the dog. We ordered Cheese Curds, they were great. A bit on the salty side but cheese needs some salt. Shortly after our entrees came out. I got the pizza that wasn't pizza and a side salad. Husband got a cheese burger and side salad The romaine lettuces was nickel chopped. The Caesar dressing was different but good. The pizza not pizza had great crust but could have used double the pepperoni. Husband said the Hamburger was good but he expected it to have crispy edges like most smash burgers. We will be back and bring some friends. Service was great. Didn't go inside. Loved that they had TouchTunes. Patio was very nice and I bet in the evenings with all the lights it's great.
Great first visit to The Public House! Love the menu options, cool vibe inside, tv's all around with great games on, good service, great food!! Though we sat inside this visit, the outside seating area looked awesome! We will be back.
Give this place a try for lunch. Unfortunately I think it gets lost due to its location, black and gray sign. Choose the fried pickles to start and a tenderloin with fries. The waitress was friendly and attentive. I was the only person in there until 12, took an early lunch. The food looked and tasted even better! It is basically a bar atmosphere vibe. Nothing in decor stands out, they were having issues with the lighting. But it was just dark and plain, yet seemed clean. I would recommend trying this place.
I was in town for the weekend and myself, some friends, and family were looking for a place to go and saw this. Overall this was a pretty good place! The place gives off your typical sports bar. Wide open spaces for tables, with a bar towards the front. They also have some pool and darts you can have at. We came during. 2 pm so it was pretty dead, but I'd like to think this can get pretty lively in the evenings. I went in mainly for a drink which is why i was interested in this place. They served one of the better pints of Guinness you can find. I had a couple and it was very enjoyable. If you like beer they have a lot of draft to choose from. Lots of great selections overall with the alc here. I did also get a little bit of food. I was not feeling a meal so I got and shared an app which was the pretzel, and it was tasty! I also had some bites of some food my friends had and they were good. If I came back, I'd really like to go for the Hoosier (it's a tenderloin sandwich). It looked like one of the better tenderloins I had seen in a while. Even though it's just a bar food type selection it definitely was tasty and well done This place just fell short of 5 stars because of the service. Not because it was bad or slow, our server was just over the top. He was nice, but he was trying wayyyyy too hard. I think he was trying to be nice and funny, but it was a bit over the top at times. One time he was a bit rude to my friend who genuinely had a question about the menu, and tried to be funny (and failed at that) when he told him he had to wait to ask a question until everyone was ready to order. Look I love a good time and friendliness but like I said, the guy was just trying to hard. Was it possibly due to being intoxicated (we saw him and the other workers doing shots behind the bar, which honestly is funny lol) but just maybe it had an effect on the experience, or maybe that's just how they are sober. I'm not exactly sure. I think giving this 3 stars would be harsh. If it wasn't for the interesting interactions with the server it would have been an easy 5. I'd probably go back in the future
We visited the patio - dog friendly - and it was really nice to see how they renovated it. Service was slow. But you can't be too mad with those cheap drink choices. I wish they had a cocktail menu. Food is REALLY good and I'm going back soon to get a full meal. 21+ only
We stopped for an after dinner drink and snack before heading home. It's a hopping spot! Service was quick and the hummus plate was generous. I had the house Pinot Grigio ($9) and hubs had a beer. We may stop back in for lunch to give the food a try. This is a 21 + spot which we really appreciated.
Looking for a place for St. Patrick's Day we ended up at the newly opened Public House of Zionsville. Nice space, numerous tables that seat between 2 and 8. Interior has a lot of hard surfaces so it was pretty loud. Food was all delicious. Fried pickles were the thinnest I've ever had...more like a potato chip. Hubby had wings and pronounced them in his top 5. I had the double tenderloin (thinking I would receive two sliders but instead two nice sized tenderloins on one bun!), our friend had the burger (two patties and it looked awesome). Large patio outside will surely be a great place to sit in warmer weather. Right now it has a handful of picnic tables so I can't see what they do with the space!
